In-House or Field
Investigation?
If it is your company
policy to investigate each death claim, Nationwide Claims
Investigations may be the most important part of your investigative
team. We can provide you with a field investigation where
handling is made in person.
Nationwide Claims
Investigations can also conduct an investigation using our in-house
investigators. You still received a signed statement, medical
records, copies of pertinent records (police reports, coroner, MVR,
etc.) but it is all done via telephone. Our in-house
department can handle investigations from Coast to Coast without any
restrictions.
Some criteria which maybe
used to differentiate between an in-house investigation and field
investigation may be the amount of the policy, age of the policy, or
any red flags regarding the claim.
Rates
Depending on the type and
extent of investigation required to satisfy your need will be
discussed prior to handling the investigation. An hourly rate
of $60.00 plus expenses determine the budget. All expenses for
documents, such as medical records, autopsies, etc., will be billed
at the cost of the documents.
A budget will be agreed
upon prior to acceptance of the claim investigation. During
the investigation process should it become necessary to exceed the
original budget contact will be made with you before exceeding the
agreed upon budget.
